The OIA includes the following categories of members: Full, Associate, and Partner. Those seeking membership must be recommended by the Membership committee and ratified by the Board of Directors.
Membership in the OIA provides your organisation with the opportunity to make an impact on the global osteopathic profession, provide input into the leading global osteopathic organisation, receive discounted attendance at Annual Conferences for all of your organisation’s members, apply to host OIA Annual conferences, and nominate individuals for the Board of Directors, among many other opportunities. Legally recognized organizations from any country where osteopathic physicians and/or osteopaths are regulated by law, who represent the majority of the professions of osteopathic physicians and/or osteopaths. Additionally OIA membership can be shared by a coalition of eligible organizations who formally agree to collaborate.
Established or emerging organizations from any country where osteopathic physicians and/or osteopaths are working towards governmental recognition and the legal establishment of the osteopathic profession, and full membership in the OIA.
Partner Members are defined as organizations/institutions with goals and objectives that are consistent with those of the OIA, but who do not meet the criteria of Full or Associate Membership.
